Founded in 2003, Lesiolo Grain Handlers Ltd. (LGHL) existence stems from the belief that Kenyan market place demands both modern and efficient grain handling services. LGHL's management believes that these demands are best served by private-sector entities like LGHL.
LGHL provides a comprehensive solution for grain storage and related services. The LGHL facility offers drying, cleaning, fumigation and a host of other services aimed at allowing its customers the opportunity to realize the highest prices for their grain. Currently, LGHL handles all grades of maize, wheat and barley.
Our facilities.
LGHL has two sites strategically located outside of Nakuru in the centre of key grain-producing regions. The Lanet site boasts 30,000 metric tons combined capacity in a configuration of 16 silos and 8 wet bins. It has the most modern equipment in East Africa: two Cimbria 54 ton dryers, two Cimbria Delta 120 cleaners, a belt conveyor system, and a mini-dryer to cater to smaller customers. It is capable of handling bulked or bagged grain and has a bagging unit to accommodate purchasers with specific needs. It also has a full-service laboratory, which is able to grade moisture, protein, bushel weight, and other quality parameters.
Our leased NCPB site with 50,000 tons capacity has 14 silos and 5 star bins and a 100 ton drier. All storage is outfitted with modern pest control and temperature monitoring equipment that monitors conditions continuously using an automated system. We also have 2 mobile dryers of 12 tons holding capacity that are used to dry farmers’ grains at farm gate.
